About Me
Hi, I’m Izy, the founder of Indigo Zulu Ink.
I’ve been drawing and painting for over 20 years, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I discovered my passion for ink drawing. This shift came after a life-changing event in 2019, when I experienced a TIA (mini-stroke). It temporarily took away my ability to write—a skill I’ve had to relearn—and forced me to reassess my priorities. As a self-taught artist, I’ve embraced these challenges and found new purpose through my art.
During the pandemic, drawing became my sanctuary. Living in South Devon and working for a military charity, I found inspiration in the helicopters, ships, and submarines around me. These subjects perfectly matched my style, and what began as a personal passion has grown into a small business. I’ve been fortunate to receive commissions from across the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, including HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Prince of Wales, and various Naval Air Squadrons.
I am proud to support armed forces charities, and where possible I regularly donate artwork to be auctioned by several charities. In the last few years, my drawing has helped to raise in excess £20,000. This year I am proud to be nominated in the ‘Military Charity Fundraiser of the Year’ at the English Veteran Awards.
My portfolio continues to grow, and I’m always excited to take on new challenges—if you have an idea, let’s bring it to life!
